KalababuAbout 8 feet in height, weighing around 37 mounds, Kalababu, a bull, is aged five and is being prepared to be sacrificed for the upcoming Eid ul Azha.

He is being looked after at the farm of Mehedi Hassan in Tangail and Hassan claims that Kalababu will be the biggest animal to feature in Tangail’s Eid market.

Kala was born in my farm five years ago and was reared without the usage of any harmful size enhancing medicine, claims Mehedi.

Last year, when the bull was 25 mounds, Kala was featured in the Eid market with the price rising upto Tk. 8,00,000.

This year Mehedi wants Tk. 1.5 millon for 'Kalababu'.

People from different areas are coming to take a look at this massive bull.

“At the advice of upazila livestock officer, I fed the bull local food and did not sell it last year as the price offered was not satisfactory,” said Mehedi.

He further said that many buyers are coming every day and price has gone up to Tk.  9,00,000.
Upazila livestock officer, Mostafizur Rahman, said: “the bull is the biggest in the upazila and is looked after with care.”

Acting OC if Basail thana, Anisur Rahman said: “the police are carrying out round the clock vigilance to prevent stealing or harming of any animal.”
