Ex-JCD leader killed in Sylhet infighting

Fayzur Rahman FazuA former leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student front of BNP, has been killed in a factional clash in Sylhet, police said.
The clash broke out near the newly-elected Sylhet city mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury’s home in the city’s Kumarpara area at 9:30pm, leaving three people injured.
“The clash took place centring the leadership of the JCD’s city and district committees,” Sylhet Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (media) Abdul Wahab told Bangla Tribune.
Critically injured Fayzur Rahman Fazu, 28, along with two others JCD men were taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Fazu, an assistant secretary of JCD Sylhet city unit, succumbed to his injuries around 10:30pm.
The other injured – Uzzal Ahmed and Liton were undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The body, which bore several marks of stab wounds and bullets, was kept at the hospital for autopsy, said Wahab.
