The state-owned Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) is selling onions at Tk 45 at different places of the country including 50 spots in Dhaka.
Sale of the cooking staple on the TCB’s mobile trucks came in a move to “ensure supply and fair prices of onions” amid the volatile situations in the market,” said a press statement issued by the commerce ministry on Thursday (Nov 21).
Shipload and planeloads of onion are being imported with the cooking staple has already been flown from Turkey, Egypt and Pakistan to Bangladesh, read the statement.
Prices of onions started to drop with its supply become normal, it added.
