BSTI fines seven business outlets in Dhaka

Two BSTI teams conducted the drive in the city's Gulshan, Malibag and Motejheel areas and slapped fines of Tk 200,000, said a press release on Saturday (Jun 15).
A BSTI team led by executive magistrate Amimul Ihsan fined a Shwapno outlet Tk 50,000 for illegal use of the standard sign to sell imported chocolate in Gulshan-2 and Tara General Store Tk 25,000 for violating the BSTI rules at DNCC Market in Gulshan-1.
Another BSTI team led by executive magistrate Rashida Akter fined Gazi Store in Malibag, Boro Bhai General Store in Shantinagar, Mayer Doa Departmental Store in Fakirapur, and Parven Traders and Babul Store in Khlgaon Taltal City Corporation Market Tk 25,000 each for selling banned products.
The teams also seized banned products including Culson’s Laccha vermicelli, Radhuni coriander and cumin and Pran Premium Ghee during the raids, reads the statement.
