Online shops abuzz with Ramadan offers

Representational imageOnline shops are making lucrative offers keeping Ramadan in view, thus further expanding the already burgeoning market that involves a sizeable number of young population and high rate of internet penetration.
One such e-shop is iferi.com, which is providing exclusive kitchen and dining items at affordable prices.
"We provide our customers with all the necessaries that they need for their home and living. From the beginning of Ramadan, we are offering a flat 5% discount for any purchase from our shop," says iferi.com CEO Sheikh Nasir Uddin.
“Moreover, we are also offering them 10% discount on a unique item — juice dispenser — at our site as we believe it can be a great addition to the dining table during iftar,” he discloses.
“To encourage our customer to buy more and freely from our page and site, we are also offering a automatic cash discount of 10% on a purchase worth Tk 5,000 or more from our sites,” he goes on to add.
Products worth over Tk5 crore are sold online every day during Ramadan, says Fahim Hossain Khan, a digital market researcher at Software Shop Ltd.
Eid, Puja and other festivals are the special occasions for the online market owners and people also, to avoid hassle, prefer to do shopping online during, which is helping the online market grow steadily, Hossain points out.
E-commerce market growth is currently over 75% and market size is around Tk 13 billion, according to the E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB).
Generally, the daily orders range between 25,000 and 30,000 while during Ramadan and other occasions it is between 75,000 and 85,000, as per the association.
Unlike other online stores, Bagdoom.com is more focused on lifestyle products and young people. They sell fashion items for both men and women, electronics, gadgets and home appliances etc from the best local and international brands.
Bagdoom supports all major payment processors and cash on delivery with strong management. They are now offering average 75% summer discount while people get up to 35% discount on smart watches at Bagdoom.
Besides, 10% to 20% discount are on offer for the Lanka Bangla, BRAC Bank, Prime Bank, bkash and Eastern Bank limited card holders.
Mirajul Huq, chief executive officer of Bagdoom, says: "During Eid, people ask not only for offers but also for on-time product delivery. We are always aware of this and ahead of others."
Online shop Ajkerdeal is also selling products with lucrative offers and discount from the first day of Ramadan over 40 categories such as bags, purses, household items, jewellery and watches, mobiles and tabs, gazettes, shoes-belts and wallets, cosmetics, perfumes and so on.
Hossain Al shahid, assistant manager (business development) of Ajkerdeal, said: "We are offering Tk100 to Tk300 Eid cash back. Besides, we are offering 60% discount on fan, 50% on clothes, 10% to 50% flash deal and up to 50% hot deal for any kind of products."
Ajkerdeal is also offering free home delivery in Comilla, Khulna, Mymensingh, Gazipur, Savar and Narayanganj through their app.
Daraz BD provides all products at a very competitive price and they offer discounts all the year round.
They are offering 30% to 74% discount on fashion, accessories, home appliances, groceries and sports items. Besides, they have also daily mega offer of up to Tk 1,500 voucher.
Priyoshop is offering free home delivery purchase worth Tk 500 during Ramadan. There are also 20% cash back in bkash payment, 10% discount in Southeast, EBL, Brac, Mutual Trust, Lanka Bangla, NRB, Upay card payment.
Ashiqul Alam Khan, executive officer of Priyoshop.com, says: “We are providing fast delivery of quality products to enhance the joy of Ramadan and upcoming Eid.”
Pickaboo.com, another online store, has managed to win customers' favour just one year after its launch.
They are offering Tk 500 discount on first order at Pickaboo. Pickaboo also arranges 'Mobile Mela' with up to 67% off. Powered by Banglalink Priyojon, the fair started on May 19 and will end on May 21.
Rokomari.com is also offering up to 50% discount on selected books and other online shop are also giving 10% to 70% discount and free home delivery on various products.
In 2011, an organization named sellbazar started the first online sale. Now, there are over 950 online shops including Chaldal, Shohoz, Food Panda, FOTO CART, GP Shop, Lamudi, Upohar BD, Bikroy.com, Bproperty, Meena Click, IT Bazaar etc, according to the E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB).
