German cos form new business platform

This decision to form German Bangladesh Council (GBC) has been taken after a meeting between German Ambassador to Dhaka Thomas Prinz and representatives of reputed German companies in Bangladesh recently, says a press release.
Siemens Bangladesh CEO Prabal Bose, Country Manager of DHL Nooruddin Chowdhury, Managing Director of BASF Sazzadul Hassan, Country Representative of Commerz Bank Tawfiq Ali, CEO of Fichtner GmbH Thomas Holzapfel and Head of Finance of Bayer CropScience Syed Sarwar Moorshid were present at the German embassy during the covenant for the establishment of the new GBC.
GBC is the result of initiatives by German private companies in Bangladesh and the aims of this group are to encourage investment in and trade with Bangladesh, as well as to provide a social environment for business networking for the German companies.
To support the growth of German businesses in this country, GBC will organise business networking events and will connect businesses with each other. This group will also take the lead to strengthen business relationship between Bangladesh and Germany.
GBC and German embassy will meet on a regular basis to exchange views and to organise mutual support.
