Japan keen to invest in Urea fertiliser plant

A high-level delegation of JBIC today expressed the keenness in a meeting with Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun at his office in the city, said a press release.
State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder was also present at the meeting, according to state news agency BSS.
Humayun said the government is giving priority to setting up a urea fertilizer factory in North Bengal for meeting the rising demand of fertilizer in that area.
He suggested the delegation to submit a compact proposal for setting up the factory soon.
The industries minister asked the officials of the JBIC to complete the ‘Ghorasal Polash Urea Fertilizer Project (GPUFP)’ within the scheduled time.
Among others, Director General of New Energy and Power Finance Department of JBCI Fumio Suzuki, Adviser Yasuyuki Yamato, Chief Representative of the Aisa-Pacific region Yasuki Kominami and Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) Director (Trade) M Aminul Ahsan and GPUFP Director M Rajiur Rahman Mollik were present in the meeting.
