Tk 1.65 trillion revised ADP approved

The regular meeting of the Executive Committee to The National Economic Council is held in Dhaka on Tuesday (Mar 18) with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair. FOCUS BANGLAThe National Economic Council (NEC) has approved a Tk 1.65 trillion Revised Annual Development Programme (RADP) for the current fiscal year (FY19) keeping the highest priority on the transport sector.
The approval came from an NEC meeting held at its conference room with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Planning Minister MA Mannan said the revision to the ADP was made considering the availability of local resources, foreign financing and considering the overall macroeconomic situation.
The NEC meeting also approved a Tk 96.2 billion RADP for the autonomous bodies and corporations and incorporating this portion, the overall size of RADP rose to nearly Tk 1.75 trillion.
Out of the main RADP size of Tk 1.65 trillion, the Minister said that Tk 1.14 trillion will come from the local sources, Tk 510 billion project assistance while the rest of Tk 96.2 billion has been kept for the autonomous bodies and corporations.
Earlier in May, the NEC approved an Annual Development Programme (ADP) of Tk 1.73 trillion for the current fiscal (2018-19).
Out of the original ADP size of Tk 1.73 trillion for the current fiscal year, Tk 1.13 trillion was supposed to come from the local sources while the rest Tk 600 billion from the foreign sources.
Mannan said the total number of projects in the RADP stood at 1,916 including 1,629 investment projects, some 154 technical assistance projects, 2 projects from the Japan Debt Cancellation Fund (JDCF) while the rest of 131 projects for the autonomous bodies and corporations.
