Country’s two bourses closed on Wednesday (Feb 13) registering the rise of most of the shares’ price, but Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed a deceased amount of transactions, reports BSS.

The broader DSEX index of DSE closed the day with 16.36 points up at 5,748.31. The Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 1.74 points up at 1,311.32 and with 3.52 points rise at 2,003.32.

The daily trade went down today to 7.13 billion of 17,47,15969 shares which was Taka 1.89 billion lower that Tuesday transaction of Taka 9.01 billion.

At DSE, out of the day’s 347 companies and mutual funds, 169 registered higher price while 136 was losing issue and 42 remained unchanged.

The major gaining issues were Global Insurance, Eastern Insurance, Republic Insurance, Lankabangla Finance, Sonar Bangla Insurance, Agrani Insurance, Janata Insurance, Phenix Insurance, Continental Insurance and Union Capital.

The major losing companies were Jute Spinners, Meghna Petroleum, Savar Refractories, Meghna Condense Milk, Imam Button, Shyampur sugar, Sonargaon Textile, Aramit Cement, BD Welding and ICB Islami Bank.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day with CASPI 44 points up at 17,598.

At CSE, 258 issues were traded. Of those, 128 closed higher while 98 closed lower and 32 remained unchanged when Taka 272.1 million changed hands.
