Stocks end week flat

The broader DSEX of the DSE finished the week with 9.09 points down at 5,811.92. But, the blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES closed the week with 18.13 points up at 2,026.09 and with 12.80 points up at 1,323.40 respectively.
Out of the 351 issues traded on DSE, 124 gained against 208 losing issues. The average trade value at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) was Tk 8.24 billion and the average trade volume was 189 million share.
The top five gainers of the week were Barger Paints Bangladesh, Libra Infusions, Monno Jute Stafflers, Shurwid Industries and Marico Bangladesh. The major losing issues of the week were Prime Insurance, Purabi General Insurance, Paramount Insurance, Janata Insurance and Karnapuhili Insurance.
The top five-turnover leaders were United Power Generation and Distribution Company, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company, Khulna Power, Grameen Phone and Premier Bank.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week down, with its major CASPI index ending 109.67 points lower at 17,890.92.
