From now on, officials of all commercial banks will have to be transferred after three years for what the central bank says to prevent money laundering and fraudulent activities.
On Thursday (Oct 25), Bangladesh Bank’s Banking Regulation and Policy Department issued a circular and forwarded it to top of banks officials.
It said officials at headquarters and branches have to be transferred after three years.
The central bank, however, excluded managing directors (MDs), deputy-MDs or equal ranked officers, and experts appointed on special purposes.
Officials working at the branches will also get a 10-day mandatory leave every year except for the officials who enjoy recreation leave under the government or banks rules, reads the circular.
Works done by an official for the last one year has to be audited before s/he goes to mandatory or recreation leave.
