The direct train service from Dhaka to Jashore’s Benapole will be launched on Jul 17.
The new service will facilitate the travel of India-bound people through the Benapole landport.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to flag off the train that day through video conferencing, BSS reports citing officials of Bangladesh Railway (BR).
The train with 896 seats in 12 compartments will travel between Benapole and Dhaka everyday with a stopover in Ishwardi and Dhaka Airport stations.
The train will leave Benapole at 11.30am and reach Dhaka at 7pm while it will depart Dhaka for Beanpole at 12.30am and reach the destination at 8 am, officials told the state news agency.
Ticket price of Shovan chair of the train has been fixed at Taka 500 while Taka 1,000 for air condition seats and Taka 1,200 for air condition cabin, according to the BSS report
The coaches of the train were procured from Indonesia and already have gone for trial, it said.
