Cruise ships between Bangladesh and India would start operating from March this year, says Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi.
Quoting a statement by the ministry, BSS reported that Munshi made the announcement while speaking to the media on Sunday (Jan 27) after a meeting with acting Indian High Commissioner Adarsh Swaika.
During the meeting, Minister Munshi urged the acting Indian envoy to ease the visa procedures for the Bangladeshi citizen, says the state news agency’s report.
Dhaka has proposed to Delhi to construct a land port at Chilahati frontier in Dinajpur, the minister told reporters before, adding, “Initiative for setting up six more border haats alongside the existing haats have been taken.”
Both the countries have a trade of $9,492 million and in last year, export of Bangladeshi products to India has been increased, says the BSS report.
