World’s 10 most popular tourist destinations

2017 saw a remarkable growth of 7% in global tourist arrivals reaching 1.32 billion, according to the 2018 Tourism Highlights Report of United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
The highest growth in seven years since 2010, with the Europe, yet again the most visited region in the world.
With 5 of the 10 most popular destinations in the continent, 2017 marked sustained growth for eight straight years in Europe.
France remains the world's top tourist destination yet again with an impressive 86.9 million global tourists arriving in 2017, 5 percent more that the previous year.
Spain, in second spot, seems to be closing in on France faster than ever for the most popular tourist destination tag with 81.8 million arrivals in 2017, 10 percent higher than last time.
The United States dropped one spot at third in the list with a 4 percent derease in tourist arrivals in 2017. However, the country were at the top in terms of the amount inbound visitors spent, which stands at $210.7 billion.
Rest of the top ten countries are China (60.7 million), Italy (58.3 million), Mexico (39.3 million), United Kingdom (37.7 million), Turkey (37.6 million), Germany (37.5 million) and Thailand (35.4 million)
In the list of receipeints of most cashes spent by the tourists, US is followed by Spain, France, Thailand, UK, Italy, Australia, Germany, Macau (China) and Japan.
As for which country's citizens spent the most in 2017, China continues to lead the way. The Chinese tourists spent a whopping $257.7 billion in 2017. US comes second in this list followed by Germany, the UK, France, Australia, Canada, Russia, South Korea and Italy.
Another list raking the fastest-growing tourist destinations in 2017 saw Egypt recover from recent yeast of political turmoil and reach the top spot in the category. Growth of international arrivals was 55.1% compared to the previous year.
Rest of the fastest growing destinations are respectively Togo, San Marinol, Vietnam, Georgia, Palestinian territories, Niue, Nepal, Israel and Northern Mariana Islands.
